Surefire Forum
Preparing and promoting the future of college baseball.

Since 2018, the Surefire Baseball Forum has matched NCAA Division I administrators with top assistant baseball coaches from across the country.

Surefire was modeled after the Villa 7 networking event for college basketball, which Penry attended in 2012 at Nike’s campus in Oregon.

Growing up in the Baton Rouge area during the height of LSU head coach Skip Bertman’s legendary run in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Penry developed a deep passion for college baseball. Surefire is his passion project.
The purpose of Surefire is two-fold: prepare assistant coaches for head coaching roles and create more interest in college baseball among athletic administrators.
Through six Surefire events, 37 of the 142 assistant coaches that attended have secured their first NCAA Division I head coach role.
